    Lunch-n-Learn Summer Food Safety
    Warmer temperatures in the summer months provide a great time for cookouts and picnics but we shouldn’t take a break from being smart about food safety. More care is needed since foodborne illnesses increase in the summer months. Participants will learn correct methods for keeping food save during the warmer months and enjoy a great lunch. Samples of a variety of the recipes will be enjoyed by those attending. Test Your Summer Food Safety Savvy will be presented on May 15, Noon until 1 p.m at the Agricultural Center.
    Home Cooked Breakfast Fundraiser & Yard Sale
    Continuing the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Davidson County Senior Services, the Senior Dynamics program is hosting a breakfast fundraiser to benefit In-Home Services. The In-Home Services program provides trained Certified Nursing Assistants to assist older adults who need help with home management, personal care or respite care. This enables the individual and/or family to function effectively and remain at home longer versus premature placement in an assisted living facility.

    Lake Thom-A-Lex Crappie Tournament
    Davidson County Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring at Crappie Fishing Tournament at Lake Thom-A-Lex Park on Saturday, May 16, 2015.
    Master Gardener Hotline
    Starting this month Davidson County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will be available to answer gardening and lawn care needs with a “Gardening Hotline”. They will be available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-1pm until July 30. The phone number is 336-236-3131. You can also come by our office at 301 East Center Street in Lexington to speak to a Master Gardener Volunteer during those times or send them an e-mail at davidson.mastergardener@gmail.com.
    Clemmons Fire Department
    The Clemmons Fire Department, Inc. will conduct a special called meeting of the Corporate Membership on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. The Corporate Membership is comprised of any registered voter living within the Clemmons Fire Insurance District in Davidson County, Davie County, and Forsyth County.
    Pageant Looking for Senior Contestants
    Giving women 55 years of age and older an opportunity to display their "inner beauty," personality, and elegance, the Ms. Senior Davidson County Pageant seeks to draw attention to the achievements of senior women. The pageant motivates and encourages women to utilize their full potential and share a positive outlook on life with others.
